About

For nearly five years I worked at the French Government Tourist Office in New York, the culmination of a decade of living and breathing all things French. With frequent trips to France, where I would stay in fancy hotels and eat in four-star restaurants, and with — get this — six weeks of vacation a year, I was living my dream job. However, I willingly walked away from it.

One day I asked my boss for four weeks of vacation; I did have six weeks after all. Much to my amazement, he said no. Even more to my amazement, I said, "I quit."

What was to be a brief holiday turned into an 18-month solo adventure around the world, during which I met amazing artisans who create unique handcrafts not found in typical retail shops. Once home, friends and family shared in my excitement. I quickly returned to the road for more one-of-a-kind finds. And so was born Global Girl Gifts.

Each year I scour the markets and villages of Asia in search of cool and unique fashion accessories and gift items. Old friends are revisited; new friends are made. You hear the word "hand" often when shopping at Global Girl Gifts, because each and every item has been formed by a man's or woman's hands.

Discover these treasures yourself by visiting Global Girl Gifts at The Strip District in Pittsburgh, hosting your own home party or attending one of the many events where Global Girl Gifts can be found.
